Ra’mya + Ryan Royce at the Seattle Japanese Garden
These two were just the sweetest and it was so fun to spend a little bit of time walking through the Seattle Japanese Garden and watching them explore. During photo shoots I love letting the kids lead the way for most of it and seeing what they naturally gravitate towards. As an adult walking into such a structured place it's easy to fall in line, walk the route that's laid out by the path, read the signs and experience a specific place the way that it's designed to be experienced.
But. We all know that kiddos still have that magic individual north star, leading them in their own directions. The path becomes a playfield of rocks + sand to build with and draw in, the signs are blown past without a thought because there's a turtle across the way and stone borders are just a new Ninja Warrior challenge.
It's a complete privilege to be able to witness that purity of thought and exploration on a daily basis.
